FRENCH PRESS

Recipe

  • 30g of freshly ground coffee (medium-coarse grind, resembling coarse sea salt)
  • 500ml of filtered water (heated to 93°C)
  • Brew Ratio: 60-70g of coffee per liter of water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the French Press
    • Place the French Press on a stable surface and remove the plunger.
    • Preheat the carafe by rinsing it with hot water, then discard the water.
  2. Add Coffee and Bloom
    • Add 30g of coffee grounds to the French Press, ensuring an even bed.
    • Slowly pour 100ml of hot water over the coffee, evenly saturating all grounds.
    • Allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds, releasing trapped CO₂ and enhancing flavor clarity.
  3. Complete the Pour and Steep
    • Gently pour the remaining 400ml of water over the grounds, ensuring an even distribution.
    • Place the plunger lid on top without pressing down to retain heat.
    • Let the coffee steep undisturbed for 2 minutes.
  4. Skim the Crust and Extended Steeping
    • After 2 minutes, use a spoon to gently break the crust (the floating coffee grounds layer) and stir lightly.
    • If desired, scoop out any remaining foam or floating particles for a cleaner cup.
    • For enhanced extraction and a smoother flavor, let the coffee steep for an additional 2-4 minutes before plunging.
  5. Plunge and Serve
    • Slowly press the plunger down until it just rests on the surface of the coffee—do not push it all the way to the bottom, as this can agitate the sediment.
    • Carefully pour the brewed coffee into your cup, avoiding the last bit of liquid to minimize sediment.
  6. Enjoy
    • Allow the coffee to cool slightly before tasting to appreciate its full flavor profile.
    • Swirl gently in the cup to enhance aroma before sipping.

Great stories have a personality. Consider telling a great story that provides personality. Writing a story with personality for potential clients will assist with making a relationship connection. This shows up in small quirks like word choices or phrases. Write from your point of view, not from someone else's experience.

Great stories are for everyone even when only written for just one person. If you try to write with a wide, general audience in mind, your story will sound fake and lack emotion. No one will be interested. Write for one person. If it’s genuine for the one, it’s genuine for the rest.
